Church in the Son

On Palm Sunday, April 8, 1990, a group of sincere believers started Church in the Son. The first service was held in the Orlando Museum of Art Center. To our amazement, over two hundred and fifty people came to that first ten o’clock service. Alex Clattenburg, our pastor, longed to see a church emerge that would allow the Holy Spirit to fully work in the lives of people. There was a deep desire to experience worship freely and go beyond traditional formality. From the very beginning, we knew that with prayer and obedience, God’s blessing would be with us. Without the backing from any organization, we stepped out in faith believing for God to do something great and He did.

Year after year, God has been faithful. We have come to see many miracles. From the gift of land for our present campus to the healing of the sick and broken, God has shown himself to us as awesome. Also, the God Encounters have helped bring spiritual freedom to thousands of people.

From our inception, Church in the Son has understood that people throughout our city are far from God and need to experience the love of Jesus. Our congregation continues to bring their lost friends to week-end services and the fruit of inviting one is evident as we see souls continue to be saved. Having three weekend services, we are seeing people from all walks of life, and cultural backgrounds experience the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that if He was lifted up, He would draw all people unto himself. We are so grateful to God for what he has done in and through our church family.
